Sufism is a quest for simplicity, love and inner freedom.

At the heart of Islam, Sufism is a profound and transformative quest that ultimately leads to closeness with Allah.

On this path, material possessions are seen as means, not ends, enabling believers to keep their hearts free. Abou Hasan an-Nouri said, “The Sufi is the one who possesses nothing and is possessed by nothing.”

The great fourth caliph of Islam, Ali ibn Abi Talib summed it up when he said, “Detachment is not the absence of possessions, but it is the freedom of not being possessed by them.”

This aspiration is essential in Sufism. Sufism is a quest for simplicity, love, and inner freedom.

Our master Sidi Hamza [may Allah sanctify his secret] would remind us, “Every man is a slave to something, except those who are free. To become free, one must be internally free by invoking (Allah) GOD.”

Our master Sidi Jamal [may Allah sanctify his secret] enlightens us on this subtle balance by recalling a saying, “The body may bargain in the marketplace, yet the heart remains in harmony with the Presence of the Beloved.”

This path requires dedicated spiritual practice and effort toward purification to achieve inner peace. The goal of the Sufi path is to reach the harmony in which the soul remains connected with Allah.
